Coty Brooke Mattice and Will White were married on May 21st, 2016. I met with Coty's Aunt Susan multiple times before Coty reached out to me. We didn't even get a consultation and Coty showed up with the contract signed and ready to go. Mrs. Susan had told me all of the plans, multiple times, and Coty confirmed them all. My first impression of Coty was that she was shy and very chill. Extremely sweet and already had the wedding planned. It was months before we talked again and we ended up sitting down together with her mom and Aunt Susan at the local Starbucks. I got the "lay of the land" so to speak and we were all laughing and tearing up before the meeting was over. We were fully prepared, or so I thought.
I don't mean to say that something bad happened or the day was a wreck. It was quite the opposite. I wasn't fully prepared for the event I was about to walk into. It was stunning. I drove up and it looked like a carnival came to town in full wedded bliss. There were rugs and tables everywhere. Chandeliers hanging from the trees, lawn games and a coffee bar. One of my favorite details of this wedding was their "Family Tree". It was a huge oak tree with framed portraits of their loved ones all over it. This bride is a lady after my own heart. Kindred spirits, we are. Needless to say, I was overwhelmed. And that was just getting out of my vehicle!
Moving on, the rest of the evening was a whirlwind of fun, laughter and love. The bridesmaids hung out and laughed like they were having a slumber party. The groomsmen showed up riding in the bed of a pickup truck. All while family was pulling the strings of this beautifully woven tapestry called the White Wedding. Coty Brooke had her best girl friends there to see her through her day, laughs, tears and hugging all the way. Will had his best mates hanging out and keeping him chilled while laughing and carrying on. But the highlight of the whole evening wasn't the preparation or the ceremony, it was the reception. I can honestly say that I've never seen family that close knit before. I don't think there was a dry eye in the place when Coty and her mom danced, especially when her dad joined in. I was shaking and misty eyed, which is hard for me because I'm not one to get sappy. I'm honestly surprised that I didn't ruin those pictures because I was so mesmerized by the whole dance.
To say that I am blessed to have been a part of this wedding is one thing. I walked away from this wedding feeling more passion and excitement than I have felt in a long time. I wish the best to Coty Brooke and Will. Ya'll have beautiful souls and I am honored that you chose me as your photographer.
